Over 30 Years of Teaching Experience

My teaching style and lesson plans ensure that each student will succeed in growing their piano-playing and keyboard skills.

Improving Cognitive Skills

Studies show that those who learn to play the piano increase success in problem solving, creativity, fine motor skills and beyond.

Positive Reinforcement Teaching Style

Through encouragement and praise with tactful notes on improvement, my students consistently progress during our lessons.

Foreword by Janice

I have been in conversation with many prospective students who have told me that they have been wanting to learn to play the piano since they were children. During the course of this dialog they have often asked, “At what age is it too late to begin taking piano lessons?”

I am happy to encourage them by saying that it is never too late to begin! For, no matter the age, the enjoyment and benefits of becoming proficient at the piano are very real and can be actualized!

I also like to include in this conversation that learning to play the piano is much more about attitude than aptitude. An individual may be gifted with a brilliantly musical ear and even have absolute pitch, but if he or she is not willing to listen to piano instruction (and thus learn) and persist in practice (repetition being at “the heart of learning”), that student will only limp along toward piano mastery.

Conversely, the person who is committed to the instrument will see success. The beauty in this is that anyone can choose to listen and to persist!
